Pianist Gisela Jöbstl is a passionate chamber musician. In 2018, together with mezzosoprano Klaudia Tandl, she was a prizewinner at the 11th Internationalen Art Song Competition Stuttgart and the Schubert-Competition Dortmund. Liederrecitals have led to performances throughout Europe. In her concert programmes she focuses on combining the classical repertoire with Contemporary Music.

Born in Friesach, Austria, Gisela’s musical training commenced at the age of five. Her tertiary studies were completed at the University of Music and Preforming Arts, Vienna, under Adrian Cox. An important influence on her as a pianist and musician were her post-graduate studies with Julius Drake at the University of Music and Preforming Arts, Graz. Gisela has participated in masterclasses with Roger Vignoles, Robert Holl, Helmut Deutsch, Birgid Steinberger, Olaf Bär and Ann Murray, and was also a scholar of the Residential Lieder Masterclass and the Schubert Institut, Baden.

Gisela currently holds the position of Senior Lecturer in Piano at the University of Music and Preforming Arts, Vienna.

Gisela is also a Feldenkrais Method® practitioner, having completed the training with Jeremy Krauss.
